RCMP officer’s child exploitation case moves to King’s Bench

The case of St. Paul RCMP officer Evan Peacock, who is facing multiple child exploitation charges, has been raised to the Court of King’s Bench, with his next appearance set for July 7 in St. Paul.

Peacock was first charged in April 2024 after an investigation by ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit. He was accused of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography. He was released under court conditions and suspended from duty with pay.

In June, a separate investigation by the Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District General Investigation Section led to additional charges. He was accused of soliciting sex with underage females online and was charged with child luring and breaching release conditions.

On June 17, the Crown filed formal charges, moving the case from provincial court to the Court of King’s Bench. Peacock is scheduled to be arraigned on July 7.
