Cold Lake City Council has agreed to re-purpose a soccer field in Lions’ Park as an off leash park for dogs.
The original proposal was the build a dog park at Imperial park. While that is still going to happen later down the road, Lions’ Park was picked as an ideal location to build first. The park is close to the humane society and the soccer field is already mostly fenced in. Converting it into a dog park will likely be very inexpensive and might just be a matter of filling in the few unfenced parts.
The park could be ready to go as early as this summer.
