A 66-year-old truck driver from the M.D. of Bonnyville has dies following a single-vehicle rollover on Range Road 485.
Bonnyville RCMP received the report of the crash on May 30 around 2:41 p.m. Emergency responders, including Bonnyville Fire Department and EMS, attended the scene. The oil tanker was found overturned in a small creel and the driver was declared deceased at the scene.
The collision caused an oil leak, leading to a temporary closure of the road for several hours. A Dangerous Goods Inspector from Alberta and Alberta Energy representatives were also on site to manage the oil cleanup and vehicle recovery.
“RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” reads the RCMP release.
