Cold Lake council supports efforts to bring back Feast at the Beach in 2026

The city of Cold Lake is backing efforts to bring back Feast at the Beach festival in 2026 with a letter of support for the Cold Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce provincial grant application.

At its May 13 meeting, council unanimously approved the motion to support the Chamber’s bid for funding through Alberta’s Community Incentives Program. The grant, which offers up to $75,000, would help relaunch the family-friendly event at Kinosoo Beach after its cancellation in 2025 due to the Chamber having a hard time securing a hosting partner.

Andrew Serba, the city’s Manager of Economic Development, Communications, and Strategy, said the request was straightforward but time-sensitive, with the grant application deadline set for May 15.

Since the launch in 2019, Feast at the Beach has become a signature event in Cold Lake, drawing up to 10,000 attendees over Labour Day weekend.

The two-day festival has featured food trucks, live music, a beachside beer garden, and children’s activities. Over the years the city has contributed more than $56,000 in grant funding, and the festival has also received provincial support in 2019, 2023 and 2024.
