Elections Canada has released the official list of candidates for the upcoming federal election on April 28.
Listed in alphabetical order, voters in the Lakeland and Fort McMurray-Cold Lake riding now know who will be on their ballots.
In the Lakeland riding, the confirmed candidates are:
- Des Bissonnette – NDP
- Bridget Burns – Green Party
- Michael Manchen – People’s Party of Canada
- Barry Milaney – Liberal Party
- Micheal Speirs – Christian Heritage Party of Canada
- Shannon Stubbs – Conservative Party
In the Fort McMurray-Cold Lake riding, the confirmed candidates are:
- Kulbir Chawla – Independent
- You-Ju Choi – NDP
- Alan Clarke – People’s Party of Canada
- Brian Deheer – Green Party
- Laila Goodridge – Conservative Party
- Kaitlyn Staines – Liberal Party
Advance polls start April 18, over the Easter weekend. If you don’t receive your voter information card by April 11, or notice errors, visit elections.ca for help.
Advance polls in the Lakeland region will open at several locations, including the Elk Point Senior Society, Smoky Lake Agricultural Complex, Bonnyville St. Louis Parish Centre, Vilna & District Agricultural Society, St. Paul Senior Citizens Centre, Boyle Seniors Drop-in Centre, Kitscoty Community Senior Centre, Lamont Recreation Centre, Vegreville Senior Citizens Sunshine Club, Thorhild Community Hall, Athabasca and District Senior Citizen Centre, Lloydminster AARO Office, Two Hills Centennial Hall, and the Vermilion Regional Centre.
