The Lakeland United Way recently gave a very generous donation to the Bonnyville FCSS of 16,500 dollars.
Several MD council members attended a small event where the United Way handed the cheque over. The money will go towards funding five different projects the FCSS is working on, broken down as follows:
Collective Kitchens $6,000,
Early Childhood project $5,000,
Thriving in the Hard Times project $2,000 and
support for Volunteer Appreciation $3,500.
Lakeland United Way President Ajaz Quarashi adds that this is only one of many projects the organization helps out with in the Lakeland every year. They’ve given out about ten cheques to organizations around Bonnyville and a similar number in Cold Lake.
The United Way has given over 400,000 dollars in the area this year alone.
