RCMP arrested and charged four people and seized weapons after stopping a stolen vehicle on Frog Lake First Nation on February 19.
Around 5 p.m., Elk Point RCMP were doing patrols on the Frog Lake First Nation after a reported sighting of a stolen vehicle. RCMP attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver attempted to flee. With the help of other officers from multiple units including, Bonnyville, St. Paul Traffic Services, the Police Dog Section, the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit and the Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, successfully disabled the vehicle and arrested the individuals without incident.
A search of the stolen vehicle uncovered a shotgun and other weapons.
Trevor Moyah, 27 of Frog Lake, has been charged with four counts of operating a conveyance while prohibited, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a peace officer, two counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, two counts of failing to comply with a release order, and two count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Kayla Moocheweines, 31 of Frog Lake, faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and four counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Tyson Moyah, 19 of Frog Lake, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession fo a firearm in a motor vehicle, and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
A 16-year-old male from Frog Lake has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.
Trevor Moyah, Tyson Moyah, and Moocheweines were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in court on March 6th, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Paul. The 16-year-old male was released on a court order and is scheduled to appear in court on March 13.
