Lac La Biche RCMP Investigate Armed Robbery

On September 20, 2014 at approximately 10:30 Lac La Biche RCMP received a complaint of an armed robbery at a local Petro Canada Service Station located on 101 Avenue.

RCMP and Emergency Medical Services arrived at the location and learned that a single male entered the business and had a handgun in his possession. The male then assaulted the 40 year old staff member causing serious injuries. The male suspect then left the location with an undisclosed amount of cash and had his face covered during the course of the robbery.

The male clerk was treated and transported to local hospital and then later to Edmonton for further assessment and medical care.

The Lac La Biche Detachment, with the assistance of the RCMP Forensics Identification Unit, Police Service Dog Unit and General Investigation Services Unit have identified the following description of the suspect:
– 5’6″ – 5’8″;
– Adult male;
– Unknown ethnic background/nationality;
– Medium build;
– Short dark hair;
– Black pants;
– Black hoodie with a green “M” (Monster) logo on the front and green and grey stripes on the waist band;
– Black shoes with white soles;
– Black and gild baseball hat with a “New York Yankees” symbol on the front;

The male suspect also stole a blue baseball hat from the store.
