Bonnyville Library to Host Unplugged Family Literacy Event

The Bonnyville municipal library wants you and your family to unplug for a while on the 17th.

They’ll be hosting the cell phone, PC and tablet free Unplugged Family Literacy event 6:30 to 8 at the Notre Dame Elementary gym.

There will be plenty of activities promoting good old-fashioned reading, pictionary with the Bonnyville Pontiacs, who will be stopping by and human scrabble, where kids have a letter placed on them and have to form words with other kids.

Programmer  Kim Deschaine says a lot of kids have a hard time even reading a book due to the stimulation available from electronics.

Parents will be able to pick up a program that will help them track how much time they spend away from screens in a day.
