Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for multiple areas in Northeast Alberta, including the Lakeland region.
Freezing rain is expected to begin early this morning before changing into snow this afternoon.
Residents are advised to exercise caution as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Drivers should reduce speed in hazardous conditions, maintain a safe following distance, and remain vigilant for taillights ahead. Changing road conditions may require adjustments to driving behaviour.
