The town of Bonnyville announce CAO leadership transition as Bill Rogers retires

The town of Bonnyville has announced the retirement of Chief Administrative Officer Bill Rogers, effective December 31, 2024.  

After a decade of service, including four years as CAO, Rogers has played a pivotal role in Bonnyville’s growth and success.  

“This wasn’t something I came to lightly,” Rogers stated. “It felt like the right time, and I know I am leaving the town in great hands.”  

Rogers, who joined Bonnyville in 2014 as Assistant CAO under former CAO Mark Power, who described Rogers as “the right guy” to fill the role. Before coming to Bonnyville, Rogers had served as the CAO of the Village of Ryley for three years, bringing a total of 20 years of municipal government experience to his role. He took over as Bonnyville’s CAO in 2020 following Power’s retirement.  

Mayor Brosseau and the council shared their best wishes for Rogers as he concluded his career commending his “steady leadership and commitment’ which made a lasting impact on the community and driven success across many projects. “We’re incredibly grateful for all he has contributed and wish him and his wife Veronica, the very best,” the town’s statement read.  

The town also announced Renee Stoyles as Interim CAO, noting confidence in her ability to continue Roger’s legacy of progress. “Her expertise and deep understanding of Bonnyville’s goals make her an excellent choice to lead our municipality,” said in the statement.  

In response, Stoyles expressed her gratitude for Rogers’ guidance. “On behalf of town staff and myself, I want to thank Bill for his dedication, wisdom, and vision that have been invaluable to our team and to Bonnyville. Bill has been more than a leader; he’s been a mentor and friend who has inspired us to bring our best each day. We are incredibly grateful for his guidance these past few years and will carry forward the positive impact he’s made here.” 

The town of Bonnyville encourages residents to join in celebrating Bill Rogers’ service and to welcome Renee Stoyles into her new role as Interim CAO.
