Cold Lake Aeros U16 team to face Alberta Wolf Pack in doubleheader, supporting local food bank

This Sunday, the Cold Lake Aeros Hockey Academy U16 team will host an exciting doubleheader against the Alberta Wolf Pack at Cold Lake North Arena.

The first game begins at 11:00 a.m., followed by a second matchup at 3:30 p.m., providing local fans a day of competitive hockey.

In addition to the on-ice action, the Aeros are teaming up with the Cold Lake Food bank to support local families, encouraging attendees to bring non-perishable food items to help those in need. “We like to run a food drive every year at our home games. It’s our way of giving back, especially when so many in our community are going through hard times,” shared Tyson Coles, Associated Coach, who has been with the organization for three years.

As an added highlight, the U16 team has prepared a special reveal, the details of which will be kept a surprise until game day. “I can’t say too much – don’t want to spoil it! But it’s something fans will definitely want to see in person,” Coles noted.

Both teams are poised for a tight matchup, with the Aeros having narrowly defeated the Wolf Pack 8-5 in a previous game. Coles says the back-to-back games offer a valuable chance for the Aeros to refine their skills ahead of their next showcase in November. “This doubleheader is a great opportunity for us to grow as a team and fine-tune some aspects of our game,” Coles remarked, energized for the weekend’s battles.

The U16 team is encouraging residents to come out, support the Aeros and contribute to a community cause, as they face the Alberta Wolf Pack in a doubleheader.
