The Cold Lake General Investigation Section (GIS) has dismantled a “dial-a-dope” operation responsible for distributing crack cocaine in the Cold Lake area.
In late 2023, the GIS, with the assistance of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) in Edmonton, launched an investigation into a group suspected of illegal crack cocaine sales. The investigation revealed the existence of a well-organized crack cocaine delivery service operating within the community.
As a result of the investigation, police executed separate search warrants in Bonnyville and Cold Lake, which led to the seizure of approximately 118 grams of crack cocaine, $3,900 in Canadian currency, multiple cell phones, and other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Two individuals from Edmonton have been charged in connection with the operation. Tezriel Willier, 22, has been charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on October 9.
Tyler Jerome, 35, faces charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. He is set to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on September 25.
