4 Wing Cold Lake announced that its squadrons will conduct night flying training over the city starting on August 19 and continuing until August 23.
The training exercises are part of the essential preparations for both aircrews and ground crews, ensuring they maintain the capability to carry out night missions, a critical component of their operational readiness.
4 Wing Cold Lake emphasized their consideration for the Lakeland community saying, “4 Wing is always mindful of the Lakeland community and this type of training is not intended to disrupt your valuable peace and quiet.”
The exercises are a necessary part of the Canadian Armed Forces’ commitment to maintaining high levels of preparedness and operational capability. While the training may cause some noise, the base reassures residents that the disruptions will be temporary and are crucial for the continued safety and security of the region.
Residents of Cold Lake and surrounding areas are advised to anticipate increased air activity during the specified dates but can rest assured that the exercises are conducted with their safety and the well-being of military personnel in mind.
