A routine attempt to apprehend a suspect on outstanding Criminal Code warrants led to significant recovery of stolen property by the Lac La Biche RCMP on July 29th
Officers attended a residence in Beaver Lake with the intention of locating a male suspect. Upon their arrival, the suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, successfully evading arrest. However, while on the property, officers observed multiple pieces of suspected stolen property, prompting further investigation. Â
A search of the property was subsequently executed, recovering approximately $250,000 worth of stolen items. Among the items seized were seven vehicles, three trailers, six ATVs, three motorcycles, one skid steer, and multiple generators, welders, and pumps. Â
11 recovered items have been confirmed as stolen property from various locations across Eastern Alberta, with the rightful owners having been notified of their recovery. To return additional items to their rightful owners, RCMP have released photos of the seized property and are asking the public to provide proof of ownership to claim their belongings. Â
The Lac La Biche RCMP investigation is ongoing, and charges against the suspect are currently pending. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops. Â
