Cold Lake RCMP seek public assistance in firearms investigation

Members of the Cold Lake RCMP are asking the public for assistance following a firearms incident reported in the early hours of April 2nd, between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. that occurred near 54 Avenue and 56 Street in Cold Lake. 

According to initial reports, Cold Lake RCMP responded to a complaint regarding firearms activity, specifically the discharge of a shotgun into the side of a vehicle. Upon arrival, law enforcement found no individuals in the vehicle or its surrounding area, and no injuries were reported.  

Police issued a statement assuring the public that they believe this incident to be targeted, emphasizing that there is currently no threat to public safety.  

To investigate the matter further, investigators are seeking the cooperation of anyone with information relevant to the incident. Individuals with pertinent information are urged to contact the Cold Lake RCMP Detachment at 780-594-3302.
