September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The Lakeland has been asked to help fight cancer. In support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (September), Lakelanders have been asked to wear a gold ribbon to show support for those fighting the disease. Each year, in Alberta, 160 children are diagnosed with cancer. Some 1,400 young people are diagnosed with the disease every year in Canada and there are approximately 30,000 survivors of childhood cancer living in Canada. For those who choose to support the initiative, tweet about it at #gogold @kidscancercare or share your gold-ribbon photos on Instagram or Facebook.
