One dead following collision on Highway 28

One person has died, and several others are injured following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 28 at Range Road 141 in Vilna on November 25th. 

Upon reaching the scene, emergency responders confirmed the fatality of a 46-year-old female driver from Edmonton. The gravity of the situation heightened as a second driver, entangled within the wreckage, had to be extracted from their vehicle. The injured individual was promptly airlifted to Edmonton by STARS Ambulance, grappling with serious injuries. The third driver involved sustained minor injuries and sought medical attention.  

The RCMP has initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Although in its early stages, preliminary findings suggest that drugs may have played a role in the tragic incident.  

The RCMP, in this challenging time, extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. The impact of such an event reverberated through the community, leaving a somber atmosphere in its wake.
