Kehewin Man Arrested for DUI After Fleeing Domestic Dispute

On January 11th, 2016 at approximately 6:30 PM, the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a complaint of a domestic dispute at a residence in Kehewin, AB.  Police were advised that the male suspect had fled the residence. During the course the police investigation the male, a 52 year old resident of Kehewin, AB, was located driving a red Ford Truck and a traffic stop was initiated.  At this point the 52 year old male was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment where he provided samples of his breath well over the legal limit. During both the Impaired and Domestic Assault investigation police obtained evidence to charge the 52 year old male with Assault, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle over 80, Driving while Prohibited along with 3 charges under the Traffic Safety Act. The male remains in police custody after refusing to speak to a Justice of the Peace regarding his detention.
