Organizers of the annual Summer Rush festival are excited and ready to host what they hope will be a large crowd in 2023.
The festival will go from Friday, Aug. 25th until Sunday, Aug. 27th, and will have 17 musicians performing live, Cultural dancers, Food Vendors, a Craft drink selection, an Artisan market, Workshops, On-site camping, and a 90’s Theme night.
The festival is being put on by Wild North Eclectic, a not-for-profit society, and is completely volunteer-based. Summer Rush’s Media Manager says last year went great.
“It was a way bigger turnout because it was our first year. You expect the worst but hope for the best and we had so many new faces and this year seems like we are almost going to have double.”
Despite the weather Summer Rush will keep going and rain equipment is recommended as one of the stages is outdoors. When asked what inspired them to put on Summer Rush the media manager said they just love art.
“We just thought if we could make this happen we have a ton of land that we can put a bunch of people on and call our family and we came together and ran with it and now we are a board and society.”
After the success of the first year Summer Rush looks to be an ongoing and annual event for the Lakeland.
