Cold Lake Jets win 2023 AFL championship title 39 – 18

The Cold Lake Jets have become the first team to claim the 2023 championship title back to back in 16 years.

The Jets defeated the Airdrie Irish last week in the AFL championship game 39 – 18. Teague Sherman the Jets’ Administrator among many other things says the game went very well.

“We are very pumped and proud of our team. Offensively I think we did better than the week before. We put more time in with practice and looking at what the other team does and I think it really paid off.”

Sherman says the team encountered extra difficulties this year both on and off the field but to still come out with the title meant a lot. This win now puts the team’s home winning streak at 17.

“We always rather play at home. Our fans are amazing and our atmosphere is amazing and it gets us pumped up. We protect our home turf with everything we got. When you play on the road there are extra stresses.”

Now the Jets are headed to Toronto in 3 weeks to take on the 2023 NFC Champions GTA All Stars in another 2022 National Championship Rematch. Until the match, the Jets will be keeping up the work and preparing for the big game on September 10th.
