With Canada Day around the corner the Lakeland has many choices of how to celebrate with their community.
Bonnyville, Cold Lake, and St. Paul all have celebrations planned with concerts, fireworks, and BBQs to choose from.
Bonnyville
Bonnyville will see multiple events take place in the town with a pancake breakfast starting the day off from 8 am till 11 am at Sobeys parking lot. The day will then transition to the opening ceremonies at the Bonnyville & District Museum at 1 pm followed by the parade at 3 pm.
Participants in the parade will start lining up at the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds an hour early. The parade will start at the grounds and make its way down to the main street and then make its way to 50 Ave. to 48 St., where they will turn down 46 St. and make their way to the Bonnylodge on 47 Ave.
The Public Works Department will start shutting down side roads leading to the main street around 2:45 p.m.
After the parade, the celebrations will move to Little Leap Park at 4 pm with bounce houses, balloon artists, a beer garden, a motorcycle show, and finally performances from Doc Walker, Metis Fiddler Alex Kusturok, and the Main Street Band.
The Bonnyville celebrations will conclude with fireworks firing off into the night at dusk.
Cold Lake
Cold Lake’s celebrations will also start with a Pancake breakfast at 8 am presented by the Cold Lake Seniors’ Society with the Cold Lake Canada Day Parade starting two hours later at the north fire hall through Lakeshore Drive to 2 Ave.
The opening ceremonies will start at 11 am with CF-18 Fly-by and then open up across the city.

Sparkle tattoos, bounce houses, Face painting, Balloon animals, Family entertainment, Axe throwing.

12:30pm and 2:45pm – Nikolai
Circus Arts Entertainer.
1:10pm and 3:25pm – The Joe Show
Illusions, comedy, and ventriloquism.
4pm to 6pm – DJ Jason Fournier
4pm to 11pm – Beer Gardens opens
6pm to 7pm – Main Street Band
8am to 9:30pm – CLASSIFIED
11pm – Fireworks
Cold Lake Transit will extend its hours with a modified route around Kinosoo Beach to get around the town. The city will also see some road closures from 8:00 am to 11:00 am for the following roads:
- Lakeshore Drive (8 Ave to 2 Ave.)
- 2 Ave. (Lakeshore Drive to 10 St.)
- 10 St. (2 Ave. to 1 Ave.)
- 1 Ave. (16 St. to 23 St.)
1 Ave (18 St. to Tamarak St.) will also be closed from 7:00 am to 11:45 pm
St. Paul
St. Paul Canada Day celebration will start at 12:00 pm and run until 4:00 pm at the St. Paul Recreation Centre with a petting zoo, bouncy castles, arts & crafts, a dunk tank, as well as market and food vendors in the Recreation Centre.
A magician will perform twice at 12:15 pm and 2:30 pm in the Curling Rink and then a dance troupe will perform a story through the art of dance in the curling rink from 1:00-2:00 pm.
The Cruisers Car Show and Shine will run from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm with monster truck rides all day with food concessions and door prizes.
The day will end with fireworks at 11:00 pm Saturday evening at the St. Paul ball diamonds.
