Two arrested after investigation into Lac La Biche fraud at Louise Carwash

Lac La Biche RCMP have arrested and charged two suspects in relation to a report of a fraud at Louise Carwash in Lac La Biche. 

Police got the call about the fraud at June 12, 2023, at 2:33 p.m. but the vehicle fled ramming a civilian’s vehicle in the carwash when officers approached the vehicle. 

An investigation for the suspects as well as the vehicle was initiated and resulted in the identification of James Dean Lameman and Samantha Binkowski who were arrested and charged. 

The two of them have been charged with theft under $5,000, failure to stop after accident resulting in bodily harm, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 among others. Binkowski was also charged with driving while suspended under the Traffic Safety Act. 

After Judicial Interim Release Hearings, both accused have been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche on June 27, 2023.
