Man Arrested in Ashmont NYE Confrontation, Threatens to Kill Officers

St. Paul Police responded to a 911 call in Ashmont on New Years Eve regarding a possible man with a firearm. Police knocked on a door where a lot of noise could be heard inside, to which they were promptly greeted by a drunk and aggressive man who yelled several obscenities at them and slammed the door in their face, saying the night was going to end in a shoot out. RCMP forced themselves into the residence where a struggle ensued. The man was able to hit one officer with a beer bottle before being taken down and proceeded to describe how he was going to kill them in graphic detail.
