There’s a new Deputy Mayor in the Town of Bonnyville as Neil Langridge was sworn in during the recent Regular Council Meeting.
Councilor Blanchette had just finished up her term as Deputy Mayor so it was time for a new face. When asked about the new title Langridge says he is very excited for the new position.
“It was my turn up and it’s a really good time. There is a lot of good buzz around the community and a lot going on.”
The Town of Bonnyville has decided every council member will get a chance to be Deputy Mayor if they would like the position and this term fell to Langridge, who accepted. The job description will have Neil Langridge fill in for the Mayor when needed.
“The biggest one is to act as that fill-in when she is needed in two places at once. I can attend and represent the Town of Bonnyville.”
Langridge says he is ready to take on that level of responsibility. His term will go until March 15, 2024.
