The heat was hot, but the chili was hotter during the Bonnyville Chili Cook-Off event.
The town all gathered together to taste over 20 teams’ best chili and crown this year’s winner. The event was packed with lines waiting to try Bonnyville’s best.
Town of Bonnyville Mayor Elisa Brosseau, Reeve Barry Kalinski, and Chamber Vice President Caitlyn Bush all showed up to the event with Bonnyville’s Mayor saying it was very difficult to pick the winners. 6 Awards were handed out to competitors at the end of the event with ATCO being crowned as the Overall winner. The other awards handed out were the following:
Hot Stuff Award – Lakeland Co-op
Tastiest Award – Bonnyville Community Church
Most Unusual Award – Cashco Financial
Team Spirit Award – Canadian Natural
People’s Choice Award – Canadian Natural
The town says it is already planning next year’s event and looks forward to seeing everyone back again.
