During the afternoon of December 28, 2015, Cold Lake RCMP were called to a rental property on 51 Avenue in Cold Lake, where a suspicious item was found by the landlord. RCMP attended and then sought the assistance from RCMP “K” Division’s Explosives Disposal Unit, who attended and disposed of the suspicious item. After further analysis, the item was determined not to be an explosive device. The RCMP takes these types of situations seriously and does not take chances when there is a potential risk to public safety.
