Cold Lake residents can expect some sounds from 4 Wing Cold Lake as military training exercise will be conducted Friday afternoon.
4 Wing Cold Lake Spokesperson say the base will be locked down with military police and RCMP involved in the training. The training will run through simulations of active aggressor situations. The spokesperson for 4 Wing says this training is very important.
“This will test the wing’s ability to respond to an emergency situation and allow us to see if we are prepared. We might have to deal with emergencies at any time and these exercises will help every member know what they have to do.”
There will be no restrictions mobility-wise for residents but there could be emergency vehicles on the roads and drivers are asked to be careful.
4 Wing said this is an essential training requirement for service members and the community to be prepared in the case of a real-life situation.
