Mobile mammography trailer comes to CLFN

A mobile mammography trailer will be stationed at the Cold Lake First Nation Health Centre from June 26th to the 28th.

The trailer will then move to the Elizabeth Metis Settlement Community Hall on June 29 before finally moving to the Elk Point Healthcare Centre on June 30 and from July 4-8.

A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast and has proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. The earlier the cancer is detected the more treatment options will be available for a better chance of survival.

Women age 45 to 74 are the group most at risk of developing breast cancer. Transportation will be available and residents can call 780-594-2472 for medical transport. Residents can book appointments or learn more about the program by calling 1-800-667-0604.
