Two have been arrested by Vermilion RCMP after officials recovered a stolen vehicle.
On May 21, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., Vermilion RCMP responded to a commercial alarm at a business located within the town. Officers attended the location and an initial investigation revealed a break-and-enter had occurred with a lone male suspect identified.
Later that same day at approximately 10:28 a.m. RCMP received a complaint of a theft of a truck that had just occurred. Officers patrolled the area and located the stolen truck a short time later. Two individuals were identified as being involved with the stolen vehicle and were arrested at the scene
Christopher Lane has been charged with the following theft of a truck, possession of stolen property under $5000, and possession of suspected fentanyl among others.
Sheila Heller has also been charged with theft of a truck and possession of suspected methamphetamine.
Sgt. Corey Buckingham for Vermilion RCMP Detachment Commander says this was excellent work by the officers involved.
“In this case, an immediate call to police regarding the stolen truck allowed for a quick response and patrol which led to the recovery of the truck and arrest of two individuals.”
