Cold Lake kicks off National Public Works Week with pair of art contests

The City of Cold Lake is kicking off celebrating National Public Works Week early by opening a pair of contests. Those in pre-kindergarten to grade 12 students will draw or colour pictures demonstrating this year’s theme “Connecting the World Through Public Works,” to enter into the contests.

According to the city, the drawing competition for students in grades 7 to 12 compete in the competition is a new addition this year. Contest packages have been delivered to schools in the area, but both contest templates can be downloaded online. The submission deadline for both contests is May 12th.

National Public Works Week is May 21st to 27th, and along with the art contest, there are a number of other events happening in the city, including the Snow Mountain Melt contest, and #NPWW Scavenger Hunt. A full list of events and a breakdown of the week can be found on the city’s website
