One charged after St. Paul RCMP seize guns, drugs

A 39-year-old Saddle Lake man is facing a slew of charges after guns and drugs were seized from a home in the area late last month. St. Paul and Saddle Lake RCMP, along with other police units, executed a search warrant on a residence in the Saddle Lake First Nation on April 29th after what they call a months-long investigation.

As a result of the search, police say they seized a pair of loaded handguns, two rifles, more than 350 grams of what is believed to be meth, just under 100 grams of suspected cocaine, and 65 grams of what is believed to be Fentanyl.

“RCMP members continue to work very diligently to take illegal drugs and firearms off our streets. This seizure will have a major impact in the local drug trafficking and organized crime within our communities,” says St. Paul RCMP Corporal Stephen Cunningham.

39-year-old Jordan Steinhauer is facing over two dozen charges as a result, and has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on May 4th.
