Elk Point Healthcare Centre resumes full services

The Elk Point Healthcare Centre has resumed normal operations now that staffing levels have stabilized.

In mid-January, the ED hours at the centre were reduced to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. due to gaps in nursing coverage as a last resort to support patient and staff safety. Now the centre is returning to 24-hour emergency department services.

Alberta Health Services would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time when hours were modified. AHS also has given thanks to all the surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff who helped the ED by ensuring those who needed care continued to have access to it.
