Residential assessments increased for first time since 2015

Residential assessments in the Town of Bonnyville have increased for the first time since 2015 according to the Town of Bonnyville’s property assessment overview.

The overview was presented to Bonnyville Town council on March 14 and the year residential assessments came in at $586,288,220 and a one to eight percent increase overall.

Non-residential saw a bit of a dip to $335,816,770 compared to the previous year, while linear was on par with 2021’s numbers at $13,890,780.

Farmland assessments were $540,500, an increase compared to 2021, and exempt assessments also made a jump to $236,007,160. Roughly 84 percent of properties in Town saw a one to 10 percent increase in their taxable assessment.

The inspections for property assessments will start this year around the end of May with RFI letters mailed to property owners in July.
