County of St. Paul approved for RRS

The County of St. Paul has been designated under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program’s Rural Renewal Stream.

The Town of St Paul, Town of Elk Point, Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay were all included as well. The RRS is an economic immigration program that allows municipalities to offer
foreign nationals a letter of nomination once they have a job offer from an eligible and approved business. The letter of nomination effectively supplants the need for a
Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), allows foreign nationals to begin the
immigration process through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program. All other
federal and provincial immigration regulations and processes remain in place.

The RRS designation will be administered by STEP Economic Development Alliance with the partners.

Businesses must be in the County of St. Paul and must have permanent, full-time positions they are unable to fill, and good standing with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations to be eligible.

To be eligible for the program, businesses must be located within the boundaries of the County of St. Paul, inclusive of the Towns of St. Paul and Elk Point and the Summer Village, must have permanent, full-time positions they are unable to fill, and good standing with federal, provincial and municipal regulations. STEP will work towards standing up the program within the next four weeks and once completed, details of the RRS program will be advertised and made available online.

Cold Lake was approved by RRS as well.
