Pontiacs lose in double overtime to Bobcats

Game four of the AJHL playoffs has wrapped up with the series tied at two apiece between the Bonnyville Pontiacs and the Lloydminster Bobcats.

The Bobcats were able to bearly sneak out the win in double overtime 5 – 4. The game started with the Bobcats taking the lead in the first period when forward Hayben Prosofsky scored four minutes and forty-one seconds into the game. The Bobcats held onto the lead and added two more in the second period leading 3 – 0. Halfway into the second period the Yaks finally got on the board when Ludovik Tardif scored.

In the third period, the Bonnyville Pontiacs came back and took the lead after scoring three goals back to back. Max Seguin scored twice with Cole Hipkin scoring the final third goal. The Bobcats responded with a goal to tie up the game at four a piece.

Both teams battled in overtime with the Yaks enduring two penalties. The fourth game eventually came to an end when Lloydminster forward Jayven Leslie put one behind the net winning the game. The Bobcats outscored the Pontiacs 49 to 36.

The fifth game is set for Friday, March 17 at R. J. Lalonde Arena and will see the puck dropping at 7:00 pm.
