Emergency crews in Lac La Biche raced to the scene of a potential drowning incident Monday night, but were relieved to find it was a false alarm.
A concerned resident reported seeing footprints on the lake surface leading up to what appeared to be a hole in the ice. Crews rushed out as quickly as they could bur discovered the “hole” was merely a pile of dirt poking through the surface. The footprints were probably from someone who went to investigate, then turned back.
