Bonnyville Library Seeking Expansion

The Bonnyville Municipal Library is looking into expansion.

Town council will perform a feasibility study to see if the goal is realistic or not, but the library has known for nearly a decade that the town’s population would probably exceed what their facilities could handle by 2016. In fact, the town has more people now then was estimated for in 2006.

Director Ina Smith says the library needs more space for the programs it hosts and that tough times in the region haven’t lowered demand at all.

Smith understands that funds are tighter than they used to be, but is still hoping for good news from council.
