Moderator Brought in to Points West Living Negotations

A moderator has been brought in to handle the conflict between employess of Points West Living and management.

Employees of the Seniors Care Facility – which operates nine locations throughout Alberta- voted to join the Alberta Union of Public Employees in March. Workers held a lunch time information picket outside the Cold Lake facility in October.

Employees say that they’re disgruntled with low wages and a revolving door of staff and claim that management has refuesed to agree to a contract. However, the company says that they have been bargainning in good faith and were simply waiting for the province to announce its funding numbers before committing to anything.
