Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce looks back on 2022 Business Awards’ with pride

Executive Director Serina Parsons says the Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Our Resiliency Runs Deep 2022 Business Awards’ was very successful in both recognizing businesses and uniting Bonnyville.

“We were so excited to get back together and celebrate the accomplishments of all our business community but especially the award winners that night.”

Parsons said there was a lot to celebrate. It has been three years since The Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce has been able to host an award show.

“It’s been a really difficult few years for everyone and with the nature of the last three years it felt like we were a community divided over the issues the pandemic raised and caused but it was finally nice to have an event where we were a community united. United in business, united in a feeling of comradery, and united in loving The Lakeland and where we come from.”

There were over 80 nominations that represent over 45 different businesses and about 35 businesses accepted the nominations for the event.

“Bonnyville is a small community and if there is one good thing that came out of the pandemic I really think it is a passion for shopping local and a passion for our business and a passion for those who give back to our local economy every single day. To be able to bring everyone together again and say you have not only survived but you have thrived was incredible”

Parsons expresses the amount of support for businesses throughout hard times in Bonnyville as a statement of how strong The Lakeland is. She says the community has seen that small, medium, and large businesses are the backbone of our community.
