Cold Lake Healthcare Centre Emergency Department closes Temporary

Cold Lake Healthcare Centre Emergency Department will be temporary without on-site physician coverage overnight due to an inability to secure physician coverage.

The closure will be at the following time:

  • 11 p.m. Wednesday, October 5 to 7 a.m. Thursday, October 6

If coverage is found for the ED this disruption may be canceled.

AHS says in a news release it is working hard to ensure local residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.

The nursing staff and EMS will remain available to the community. The nursing staff will help provide triage and assessments, and referrals for patients to alternate EDs in surrounding communities as needed and EMS will be re-routing practice to surrounding healthcare centers as needed.

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions.
