The City of Cold Lake is looking into making library memberships free.
The library society approached Council requesting an increase in funding for the upcoming budget. The city decided to go even further than that and is considering giving the society 5,000 dollars more than they requested in order to completely cover membership fees.
The move is aimed at encouraging more library use in the community. The city still has to approach the library society with the proposal.
