If you hear loud explosions and see smoke and fire near Cold Lake between Tuesday and Thursday, don’t worry, it’s not the beginning of World War III, it’s been planned in advance by the air base.
The base will be disposing of surplus ammunition and explosives by well, blowing them up. The largest explosions will be between 1 and 3 PM on Wednesday and Thursday. Residents may feel small ground tremors as well.
The base assures the public that all explosions will be carried out in a safe manner that will have minimal impact on the community.
