March Held To Bring Awareness to Addiction

It’s National Addictions Awareness Week and members of the Bonnyville Indian-Metis Rehabilitation Centre and Bonnyville Victim Services drummed up awareness of the occasion with a march yesterday.

About 30 people participated in the walk down main street Bonnyville, some of whom were recovering from addiction themselves and others who were there to show support. Senior Addictions Councillor with the Rehab Centre Wayne Barkhouse says he is for the most part satisfied with how the demonstration went.

More information about National Addictions Awareness Week can be found at the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse’s website at ccsa.ca
