The Bonnyville Friendship Centre celebrated its 40th Anniversary in style this past weekend with a gala at the C2.
Guests chowed down on delicious food, were left in awe by a traditional aboriginal hoop dancer and laughed until their sides hurt from the stand-up comedy of Howie Miller.
Among those in attendance was Bonnyville Mayor Gene Sobolewski and a contingent of councillors. Sobolewski presented a plaque to the friendship centre from the town thanking them for their work. Also receiving thanks was the centre’s assistant executive director, Pauline Mawer, who received a special award for her dedication and hard work. Pauline says she loves her job and helping others.
