The MD of Bonnyville and the City of Cold Lake have agreed to work together in funding improvements to Baywood Road.
The road is one of the main connecting points between the MD and the City and sees heavy traffic from Cold Lake drivers. The MD originally approached Cold Lake in January to fund 1 million of the 7 million dollar price tag overhauling the road is expected to cost. City council has approved a contribution of about $160,000 from next year’s budget towards the project, accounting for 22% of the total money spent on the road so far.
Funding for the project will include federal and provincial grants. The city plans to further negotiate how much they will contribute in total.
