Cold Lake Food Bank Returns Funding to Council

After receiving nearly 18,000 dollars in funding from city council, the Cold Lake food bank did what not many in their place would do, they returned the money back.

The Food bank has received a greater amount of donations than expected, but the main reason for the return was a change in management. The original group running the food bank requested the funding to help pay for rent. However, with it now being run by a coalition of 14 churches, the bank is moving into the Community Baptist church, so those funds are no longer needed.

Chairman Phil Crump says returning the money felt like the right thing to do at the time.
