A proposed new commercial/residential development just outside Bonnyville is facing opposition from nearby residents.
A group of around 25 people packed the MD’s chamber to voice their concerns over Lynx Estates. The proposed development would be built at Highway 28 and Range Road 610, across from the golf course, containing several commercial lots facing the highway and a small residential subdivision behind it.
Opposed residents cited increased traffic, the above average soil quality for farming on the land, and ruining the view from the golf course among their reasons for why the proposal should be denied.
Council has not yet made a final decision.
