BC Man charged in Hwy 28 Police Chase

A 47 year old BC man is facing charges after leading Saint Paul and Bonnyville police on a high speed chase last week.

St. Paul police responded to a 911 call of erratic driving on highway 28 near Ashmont Thursday night. When the officer tried to pull the car over, the driver continued at highway speeds passing other veihicles and swervig in and out of his lane.

Bonnyville RCMP were able to assist by setting up road blocks and clearing the road of vehicles. Police were eventually able to disable the car, causing it to lose both of its front wheels and create a trail of sparks down 50th avenue.

Phillip Robert Cosby faces charges of dangerous driving, operation of a motor Vehicle while pursued by police, and breach of court undertaking. Crosby was wanted at the time of arrest on eight additional charges out of Saskatchewan.

Crosby has been released on bail and will appear at the St. Paul Provincial Courthouse on November 26th.
