Kehewin Residents Hold Drug Abuse Walk

After noticing a growing amount of crystal meth abuse in the community, several agencies on the Kehewin First Nations joined together to organize a drug awareness walk.

People gathered outside the health services building last Friday with signs and headed to highway 41. The walk’s numbers grew as more people left their cars and houses to join as the walk passed by.

Another inter-agency meeting is being held next week. A meeting involving elders and women of the community has also been scheduled to address the drug issue.
